In the heart of the Casino, the Trattoria Pina Baudin Ternavasio is the least we can worldly imagine, frequented mainly by locals, has a very simple and basically furnished. The set, however, is tidy and welcoming, in line with the home cooking that Mrs. Pina - a life spent in the kitchen, the first in a kiosk along the Dora, where tons of fried fresh trout and then in this place - continue to practice with patience and passion.
Kindly assisted by his daughter Barbara, in a hall or veranda you can enjoy traditional dishes, influenced here more than anywhere else (for contiguity, but also for the origin of Piedmont Ternavasio) from the border region. Hence, with the typical cold cuts Aosta (dried beef, bacon Arnad, ham) together da burro e castagne, la trota marinata, i vol-au-vent con fonduta, il tortino di frittata al forno. La pasta delle tagliatelle, condite in stagione con funghi porcini, è fatta in casa; gnocchi con verdure dell’orto attiguo, crespelle, polenta concia, riso con fonduta completano la serie dei primi. Per il secondo la scelta è tra carbonade, trippa con i fagioli, bistecca alla valdostana, stracotto al vino bianco, in stagione di caccia cinghiale con la polenta. Casalinghi anche i dolci: torta o crostata di mele, crème caramel, panna cotta e, in estate, pesche ripiene.
In alternativa allo sfuso, piccola selezione di etichette regionali e nazionali.
